Fernando Alonso has confirmed he will remain with Aston Martin through the 2027 Formula 1 season, ending ongoing speculation regarding his future in the sport. The 45-year-old double world champion had previously expressed concerns regarding the 2026 technical regulations before agreeing to sign a new contract extension.
Aston Martin has faced a difficult 2026 campaign, currently occupying 10th place in the constructors' standings with only three points. Alongside Alonso's extension, the Silverstone-based team also confirmed a new contract agreement for Canadian driver Lance Stroll.
