Tony Docherty lifts lid on Scotland dynamic with Sebastian Pocognoli

Scotland Under-21 manager Tony Docherty stated that his team's structure in and out of possession will mirror the senior national team managed by Sebastien Pocognoli. Docherty will manage his first game in charge against Azerbaijan at Rugby Park on Wednesday in a Euro 2027 qualifier.

While prioritizing player development for the senior squad, Docherty and assistant Steven Naismith are determined to qualify for the European Championship. The Scotland Under-21 side has not qualified for the tournament since 1996, when Tommy Craig was in charge.
