Campus-style training ground among range of longer-term Sheffield Wednesday options – £3m site sold-off

Sheffield Wednesday's new owners, Arise, are considering long-term plans to substantially enhance the club's training facilities, including the potential development of a new campus-style site extending out of Middlewood Road. The ownership has already committed an eight-figure sum toward stadium and shorter-term facility upgrades, addressing previous space constraints that currently limit the site to two grass pitches.

Immediate enhancements have delivered a tweaked layout, cosmetic upgrades, and an improved gym, prompting praise from manager Henrik Pedersen. To ease facility pressure, several academy commitments were moved to Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park, though longer-term plans aim to reunite senior and youth teams at a unified site meeting Category A academy standards.
