Hurricanes Unveil Stanley Cup Banner Tonight. Will the Panthers Watch?

Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice confirmed that his team will be on the ice to watch the Carolina Hurricanes raise their Stanley Cup championship banner ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season opener in Raleigh. Maurice explained that the Panthers want to show respect for the Hurricanes' accomplishment and adhere to a team tradition of acknowledging league successes.

Due to the layout of Raleigh's Lenovo Center, where the visiting locker room does not connect directly to the bench, the Panthers must take the ice early to observe the ceremony. Forward Matthew Tkachuk noted that the team would be eager and motivated to get onto the ice as they begin their new campaign.
