France national team coach Zinedine Zidane contacted midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni prior to announcing his squad list. According to L'Équipe, Zidane called the Real Madrid player to check on his fitness and availability following an adductor injury. Tchouaméni acknowledged a lack of match rhythm after being sidelined for nearly two months, prompting the manager to leave him out of the upcoming matches.

Zidane explained that Tchouaméni had logged only 120 minutes across one appearance, making it best for him to remain in Madrid to continue his recovery. The manager stated that he did not want to rush the midfielder's return, leaving the door open for a potential recall during the November gathering.
