Forget Jalen Duren. The Kings may have a better target next summer.

Writer Ian Goodwillie suggests the Sacramento Kings should target Karl-Anthony Towns instead of pursuing Jalen Duren in upcoming free agency. Although the Kings reportedly want Duren amid his stalled contract negotiations with the Detroit Pistons, Goodwillie points out that Towns is reportedly tens of millions of dollars apart from the New York Knicks in extension talks.

Goodwillie argues that signing Towns would bring instant credibility to the Kings' rebuild and provide valuable mentorship to young centers Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell. Towns has two seasons left on his contract, concluding with a player option for the 2027-2028 season.
