Blues’ opening night roster is set, and there are a couple surprises

The St. Louis Blues finalized their 23-man roster for opening night, featuring 14 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goaltenders. Depth forwards Zach Dean and Dillon Dube surprisingly secured spots on the NHL roster after several veteran players were placed on waivers during the preseason.

Defensemen Logan Mailloux and Tyler Tucker were included on the roster despite injuries, with Mailloux sidelined roughly eight weeks following hand surgery. Goaltenders Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer return to lead the crease, alongside newly claimed defenseman Justin Barron.
