Cole Palmer is a victim of the football calendar, according to Professional Footballers’ Association chief executive Maheta Molango. The PFA boss has come out in defence of the Chelsea star after he pulled out of international duty due to injury.

PFA chief executive Maheta Molango has labeled Chelsea star Cole Palmer a "victim" of the congested football calendar after the forward withdrew from England duty due to a muscle injury. Speaking at the FIFPRO performance summit in London, Molango defended the 24-year-old and called for urgent reform to protect elite players from excessive workloads.
Palmer had previously been left out of Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad following an injury-disrupted season and faced recent criticism from the England manager for missing opportunities. Molango highlighted withdrawals across Europe, including Kylian Mbappe and Kai Havertz, while former midfielder Roy Keane separately criticized Palmer's performances.
