Tim Ream, USMNT World Cup captain, announces retirement from international soccer

United States men's national team center back and 2026 World Cup captain Tim Ream announced his retirement from international soccer on Tuesday. The 38-year-old concluded his 16-year international career ahead of a friendly against Chile in his hometown of St. Louis, where he was honored on the field before kickoff.

Ream finished his international career with 86 caps, captaining the national team 32 times and winning two Concacaf Nations League titles. The Charlotte FC defender stated that he will decide on his club retirement after the MLS season concludes.
