Fit-again Lawal joins Republic of Ireland squad

Stoke City defender Bosun Lawal has linked up with the Republic of Ireland squad after recovering from a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old was initially named in head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson's 26-man squad for UEFA Nations League fixtures but missed matches against Kosovo and Israel while completing his rehabilitation with Stoke.

The Football Association of Ireland confirmed Lawal rejoined the group ahead of Thursday's home encounter against Austria. Lawal, who sustained the injury on September 5 against Charlton, holds one senior cap and will also be available for Sunday's match against Israel in Serbia.
