San Francisco Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey reaffirmed the club's commitment to manager Tony Vitello following a disappointing 97-loss season in 2026. Vitello, who was hired from the University of Tennessee, struggled during his first year in professional baseball as the Giants missed the postseason for the ninth time in 10 years and saw Vitello ejected a major-league-high seven times.
Posey acknowledged roster miscalculations and stated that rebuilding the bullpen will be an offseason priority. The club also addressed outfielder Harrison Bader, who is progressing from a foot injury sustained in a scooter accident. Bader is expected to be ready for Spring Training while MLB and the Players Association continue discussions regarding the incident.
