Raptors Haven’t Held Serious Talks Regarding Barrett Extension

The Toronto Raptors and shooting guard RJ Barrett’s long-time agent, Bill Duffy, have yet to hold substantive conversations regarding a contract extension, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange. Barrett is entering the final season of a four-year, $107 million deal and is eligible for an extension worth up to $185 million over four years. Toronto is reportedly in no rush to secure an agreement.

Future financial commitments to players like Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, and Jakob Poeltl may hinder Toronto's ability to retain Barrett long-term. Despite the lack of talks, Barrett stated he is focused on playing and trusting Duffy with his contract situation.
