New York Knicks forward Josh Hart revealed that surgery is no longer a realistic option for his ongoing finger injury during his playing career. Hart stated that the only remaining surgical option would be a joint replacement, which would end his NBA career. Consequently, he plans to keep the finger wrapped for the remainder of his playing days instead of undergoing another procedure.
The injury originated during the 2025 NBA playoffs and was aggravated ahead of the 2025-26 season. Despite the permanent injury, Hart intends to manage the issue while playing. He remains under contract through 2026-27 with a team option for 2027-28, though he noted that no extension agreement is expected prior to the upcoming season.
