Alessandro Romano is emerging as one of the most unexpected surprises of this early season.

Juventus and Inter are preparing to compete for young midfielder Alessandro Romano ahead of the next transfer window, according to Tuttosport. The 2006-born talent has impressed early this season, earning his competitive national team debut against Belgium. Inter reportedly view him as a potential long-term successor to Hakan Calhanoglu, while several Premier League clubs are also monitoring him.
Romano joined Cagliari in the summer on a loan deal featuring an option to buy set at around €5 million. Former club Roma are closely following the midfielder's development because they hold a 10% sell-on clause on any net capital gain Cagliari generates beyond the €5 million purchase option.
