Celtic international watch – Swede dreams for Nygren, Yang aims for glory and one star off the mark

Following a difficult run of domestic defeats under manager Martin O'Neill, 12 Celtic players traveled across the world for international duty. Swedish attacker Benjamin Nygren scored in Sweden's 3-1 victory against Poland, while winger Yang Hyun-jun advanced to the Asian Games final with South Korea, putting him within one match of winning gold and securing an exemption from mandatory military service.

Elsewhere on the international stage, loanee Shim Mheuka scored for England Under-20s in a 2-1 victory over France. Defender Auston Trusty recorded an assist for the United States, goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo earned his eighth cap for Finland, and newly called-up Colombian forward Camilo Duran awaited his senior debut after travel delays.
