DALLAS — Lower leg soreness has limited Morez Johnson Jr. in Dallas Mavericks training camp, Mavericks coach Dusty May said Wednesday. The rookie went through every other live session in Wednesday’s practice as Dallas manages his workload.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Dusty May announced Wednesday that rookie Morez Johnson Jr. is dealing with lower leg soreness. Dallas is currently managing the rookie's workload during training camp, with Johnson participating in every other live session during Wednesday's practice after initial unspecified limitations earlier in the week.
Johnson is among three limited Mavericks big men, alongside Santi Aldama and Dereck Lively II, as the team prepares for preseason games in Macao against the Houston Rockets. Selected ninth overall in the June draft, Johnson previously played under May at Michigan before joining Dallas.
