Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson is recovering from an undisclosed injury, skating solo on Wednesday as he aims to play in Saturday's season opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs. While the team hoped he would rejoin the main group earlier, Friday is now his earliest possible return to full practice under head coach Travis Green.
In other roster updates, forward Andre Burakovsky is ruled out for the weekend with an upper-body injury. Meanwhile, forward Warren Foegele skated on Wednesday but remains questionable for Saturday due to an undisclosed injury.
