The Story in 60 Seconds

Australia prevented a series whitewash against South Africa by securing a 45-run victory via the DLS method in a rain-affected third ODI in Potchefstroom. After being put in to bat, Australia posted 322-9 behind half-centuries from Alex Carey (74) and captain Mitch Marsh (56), alongside 48 runs from Ollie Peake. Rain eventually forced the match to be called off with South Africa stranded on 145-4 after 28 overs.

Pat Cummins returned to action solely as a bowler, finishing with 0 for 17 from five overs ahead of the upcoming Test series. Adam Zampa and Xavier Bartlett took two wickets each to stifle the chase, leaving Ryan Rickelton unbeaten on 71. Cameron Green sustained a suspected muscle injury during his brief innings and did not bowl.
