Green suffered a blow in the groin while batting and did not field despite being set to bowl while Renshaw was forced off the field due to a blow on the wrist and did not return

Australia suffered fresh injury worries ahead of their upcoming Test series against South Africa after Cameron Green and Matt Renshaw sustained knocks during the third ODI in Potchefstroom. Green suffered a blow to the groin while batting and did not field, missing his scheduled bowling return following a shoulder issue. Renshaw left the field and did not return after being struck on the right wrist while fielding close at square leg.
Australia's squad had already been depleted by injuries to Josh Inglis, Nathan Ellis, Jack Edwards, and Joel Davies, leaving just 12 fit players for the ODI. Stand-in captain Mitchell Marsh expressed hope that both players would recover before the first Test begins on October 9 in Durban. Marsh also confirmed he will return home after the white-ball series rather than join the Test squad, while Pat Cummins successfully bowled five overs without issue.
