Jake Paul Mocks Canelo Alvarez Over Halloween Fight

Jake Paul mocked Canelo Alvarez on social media regarding his scheduled October 31 fight against Christian Mbilli, claiming the Mexican star is afraid to fight him. Paul joked on X that Canelo fighting on Halloween fits because he has allegedly been dressed up as someone scared of Paul for three years. Canelo is preparing to challenge Mbilli for the WBC super middleweight title in Riyadh.

Boxing News 24 argues that Paul's comments are an attempt to generate promotion without earning a fight against ranked contenders. The outlet notes that Canelo previously signed a four-fight Riyadh Season deal in February 2025, and contends that Paul needs to climb the rankings rather than relying on social media callouts.
