After an insanely fun and dominating first game, the San Diego Padres faced off again…

The San Diego Padres defeated the Chicago Cubs 4-1 in Game 2 to complete a sweep of their NL Wild Card series. San Diego opened the scoring in the second inning with an RBI single from Xander Bogaerts and a sacrifice fly by Ethan Salas. Pinch-hitter Gavin Sheets provided a major spark in the fourth inning by launching a two-run homer off Daniel Palencia to extend the Padres' lead to 4-1.
Nick Pivetta started for San Diego, allowing one run over 3.1 innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. Bradgley Rodriguez, Jason Adam, and Adrian Morejon kept Chicago at bay before Mason Miller closed out the ninth inning to secure the victory and send the Padres to the NLDS against the Milwaukee Brewers.
