San Jose Sharks rookie forward Ivar Stenberg demonstrated NHL readiness throughout the 2026 preseason through his solid two-way play and high hockey IQ. The 19-year-old Swedish forward recorded five points across the preseason, highlighted by a hat trick against the Anaheim Ducks on Sept. 24.
Sheng Peng reports that Stenberg's off-the-puck instincts, forechecking, and route efficiency drew strong praise from head coach Ryan Warsofsky, captain Macklin Celebrini, and linemate Collin Graf. While the young forward experienced occasional learning moments against veteran opposition, team personnel emphasized that his strong defensive foundation and puck patience will help him maintain an NHL roster spot.
