The Story in 60 Seconds

The Winnipeg Jets resumed practice ahead of their 2026-27 season opener on Friday after finalizing a 23-player roster following a retreat in Colorado Springs. Defenseman Elias Salomonsson participated in the skate while wearing a yellow, non-contact jersey as he continues his recovery. Head coach Scott Arniel previously indicated that Salomonsson was progressing ahead of schedule.

The session also marked the arrival of goaltender Clay Stevenson, whom Winnipeg claimed off waivers from the Washington Capitals on Monday. Stevenson shared the ice with goaltender Skinner, while the Jets organized their forward lines and defensive pairings in preparation for the start of the regular season.
