ATLANTA -- Hours before his team faced elimination on Wednesday, Philadelphia Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly exuded confidence that his team's season wouldn't be ending that day.
The Philadelphia Phillies forced a deciding Game 3 in their National League wild-card series against the Atlanta Braves following a 4-3, 10-inning victory on Wednesday. Down to their final six outs, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper hit back-to-back home runs off Dylan Lee to tie the game before Alec Bohm hit a decisive homer off Didier Fuentes in the 10th inning.
Neither team officially named a starting pitcher for Thursday's winner-take-all matchup. Philadelphia is considering Aaron Nola on regular rest or Zack Wheeler on short rest, while Atlanta is expected to use Grant Holmes either as a traditional starter or behind an opener.
