Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is set to miss the third and final ODI against the West Indies in Mullanpur on Saturday after sustaining a hamstring injury. The pacer bowled only five overs during India's eight-wicket victory in Guwahati before walking off the field. India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak confirmed that Prasidh suffered a hamstring strain and would undergo scans to evaluate the extent of the damage.
Prasidh will travel to Bengaluru to report to the BCCI's Centre of Excellence for treatment instead of staying with the squad. Because he is excluded from the subsequent five-match T20I series, team management is optimistic that he can recover before India's tour of New Zealand begins on October 22. His absence could allow Mohammed Siraj or all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy to return for the final ODI.
