DJ Chris Evans has admitted he was "banned for life" from the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Radio DJ Chris Evans previously revealed he received a lifetime ban from the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship after winning the pro-am event in 2011. Partnering with professional Nick Dougherty, Evans won the tournament with a record score of 40-under par off a 10 handicap. However, organizers subsequently informed Evans he was barred from returning to defend his title amid controversy and questions regarding the legitimacy of his handicap.
Evans addressed the ban in a 2012 column, noting that rumblings of dissent emerged over his handicap being deemed too high for his ability. The tournament, which features celebrities such as Gareth Bale, James Milner, and Bill Murray alongside professionals like Bob MacIntyre and Brooks Koepka, takes place across Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and the Old Course at St Andrews.
