Lewis Hamilton has defended Ferrari's progress during the 2026 Formula 1 season, stating that being second in the Constructors' Championship is a significant step forward. Speaking in Malaysia amid increased scrutiny following a five-race podium drought, Hamilton highlighted that the team's strong performances have come despite dealing with a persistent engine power deficit averaging around four to six tenths per Grand Prix.
Hamilton also defended team principal Fred Vasseur and argued that pervasive negativity risks diminishing the hard work done at Maranello. He maintained that turning the team into title contenders is a gradual building process, though Scuderia Fans notes that the message echoes the familiar wait endured by Ferrari supporters.
