Nikola Jokic Gives Honest Take on Nuggets’ Lackluster Offseason

Nikola Jokic expressed confidence in the Denver Nuggets ahead of the 2026-2027 NBA season despite a quiet offseason following a first-round playoff exit. Jokic stated that working with the squad feels like second nature and noted that he closely observes the habits and reactions of new teammates. Denver kept its core intact alongside Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon while navigating strict luxury tax constraints.

Denver added veteran wing DeMar DeRozan on a one-year deal and traded Peyton Watson to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jokic also dismissed exit rumors, stating he plans to sign a projected historic five-year, $359.5 million extension with the Nuggets next summer.
