The sporting justice system has officially shelved its investigation into referee designator Gianluca Rocchi, confirming no direct contact occurred between officials and clubs, including Inter. The decision follows a prior dismissal by the Milan Public Prosecutor on July 15, which found no wrongdoing after allegations of sporting fraud first emerged in April.
The inquiry originally examined claims that Rocchi attempted to influence VAR decisions during the 2024/25 season from the Lissone hub and reviewed intercepted wiretaps regarding referee assignments. However, authorities found no evidence linking Rocchi or his assistant Andrea Gervasoni to club influence, effectively closing the six-month case.
