Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah, but their pursuit of the England star could have a direct impact on Josh Acheampong’s future at the club.
Writer Cameron Smith argues that Chelsea risk harming young defender Josh Acheampong's future if they pursue a permanent transfer for Bayer Leverkusen's Jarell Quansah. German outlet BILD reports that both Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in Quansah, while Liverpool retain a €70 million buy-back clause.
Smith contends that signing the 23-year-old Quansah—who saw a €65 million bid from Arsenal rejected—would block Acheampong's pathway under manager Xabi Alonso. Acheampong has made 50 senior appearances for Chelsea and should be prioritized.
