Coach Clark Laidlaw praised the 22-year-old’s power in contact and carrying.

Defending Super Rugby Pacific champions the Hurricanes have signed All Blacks loose forward Semisi Ta'eiloa on a two-year contract. The 22-year-old No 8 joins from Moana Pasifika, having earned his international debut during the All Blacks' tour of South Africa following an impressive campaign last season.
Hurricanes head coach Clark Laidlaw praised Ta'eiloa's tackling and ball-carrying power, noting he will join a strong loose forward group including Peter Lakai and Brad Shields. The signing follows reports that former Hurricanes captain Ardie Savea is set to join the Blues.
