Formula 1 broadcaster Will Buxton believes Ferrari's public declaration of support for team principal Fred Vasseur may be a warning sign regarding his future. Ferrari issued a statement reaffirming full confidence in Vasseur following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix amid rumors linking former Red Bull boss Christian Horner to the team. Speaking on the Up To Speed podcast, Buxton argued that overt boardroom backing often signals that a manager's position is already vulnerable.
Buxton cited the precedent of former team principal Mattia Binotto, who departed Ferrari roughly two weeks after receiving a similar public vote of confidence. While Ted Kravitz suggested Vasseur should remain secure if Ferrari secures second place in the Constructors' Championship, Buxton warned that prolonged speculation undermines team stability. Ferrari currently sits second in the championship standings as title contention has faded.
