Xiaolong "Sherry" Zhong defeated France's Amandine Vincent at Portland Golf Club to become the first golfer from China to win the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur. Zhong secured the historic victory by making a 15-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole and matching pars on the 18th.
Zhong was also the medalist in qualifying and had previously claimed low amateur honors at the U.S. Senior Women's Open. With this championship triumph, she became the sixth player from China to win a USGA title.
