Seemingly Unnoticed, 1 Vikings D-Lineman Has Been Left in the Depth Chart Dust

Vikings Territory writer K. Joudry notes that Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Elijah Williams has been inactive for the first three games of the 2026 season. Williams sits low on the depth chart behind defensive linemen including Jalen Redmond and Levi Drake Rodriguez, leaving him without any regular season playing time so far.

The 24-year-old defensive tackle previously appeared in seven games for Minnesota during the 2025 season after earning a spot as an undrafted free agent tryout. Williams worked during the offseason to increase his weight to 305 pounds under defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen, but Joudry suggests he may need an injury ahead of him to dress.
