Happy birthday to one of Stoke City's most loved players

Former teammates and club figures have paid tribute to Stoke City legend Terry Conroy as he celebrates his 80th birthday. Signed by manager Tony Waddington from Glentoran in 1967, Conroy went on to make 335 appearances for the club. He famously scored at Wembley during Stoke City's 1972 League Cup triumph, which remains the club's only major trophy.
Former teammates Denis Smith and Eric Skeels praised Conroy's exceptional pace, skill, and enduring sense of humor. Current Stoke City sporting director Jon Walters also commended Conroy for serving as a welcoming and humble ambassador for the club over nearly six decades.
