The Story in 60 Seconds

Unbeaten British and Commonwealth welterweight champion Constantin Ursu has stated his ambition to secure a world title shot within the next 12 months. The 26-year-old fighter, who holds a 16-0 professional record, revealed he was offered potential IBO world title bouts against Jack Rafferty that have not materialized, though he remains eager to face him if terms change.

Ursu won the Lonsdale belt against Owen Cooper in March and defended it with an eighth-round stoppage of Ben Vaughan in August. Although he currently has no bout scheduled, the Plymouth-based fighter aims to defend his British title twice more to keep the belt outright while promising an improved display in his next outing.
