FC Barcelona's total debt could exceed 2.6 billion euros based on repayment deadlines, according to an investigation by The Athletic. Despite a strong start on the pitch under Hansi Flick, the club recently received authorization to secure 510 million euros in additional debt, split between Camp Nou renovations and operational cash-flow needs.
The Espai Barça project budget has now reached 1.8 billion euros amid construction delays and rising operating costs. Barcelona paid 91 million euros in interest during the 2025-2026 season, and the club will need to vacate the Camp Nou again during the 2027-2028 season to install the stadium roof.
