The Football Association has warned that the independent commission's ruling against Manchester City carries significant implications for the integrity of football. Following the verdict that City breached financial regulations via disguised funding and sham contracts between 2009 and 2018, the FA confirmed it holds the authority to take disciplinary action against both the club and implicated individuals.
The governing body stated it will review developments and decide on appropriate action after City's appeal process concludes, expected by late January. The FA could request an unredacted copy of the 40-page judgment to identify individuals involved in dishonesty, aligning with past disciplinary precedents involving Chelsea and Southampton manager Tonda Eckert.
