Mark Duffy still cuts a popular figure among Sheffield United fans, and the 40-year-old has landed a first managerial role since 2024.

Former Sheffield United midfielder Mark Duffy has been appointed as the permanent manager of National League North side Southport. The 40-year-old takes charge after a three-game stint as interim boss where he secured four points. This marks Duffy's first full managerial appointment since 2024, when he managed Warrington Rylands.
Duffy originally joined Southport as assistant manager to Neil Danns, who stepped down earlier in October. The former Blades fan favourite previously achieved two promotions under Chris Wilder at Bramall Lane before retiring from playing in 2024.
