Braves fans gave former Padres reliever Ray Kerr a standing ovation after his scoreless outing helped eliminate the Phillies.

Former San Diego Padres left-hander Ray Kerr received a standing ovation from the Truist Park crowd after pitching 3 1/3 scoreless innings for the Atlanta Braves in a winner-take-all Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Making his first career postseason appearance, the 32-year-old opened the game, allowed one hit and one walk, and struck out two batters as Atlanta went on to secure a 6-2 victory.
Kerr had missed the entire 2025 season following Tommy John surgery in 2024 before returning to the majors in August. Traded by the Padres to Atlanta after the 2023 season, Kerr helped set up the Braves' victory, sending them forward to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.
