The Los Angeles Kings held an extensive video session and an intensive practice on Friday following their season-opening 8-goal defeat against the Colorado Avalanche. Head coach Peter Laviolette and his players focused heavily on improving discipline, fixing the penalty kill, and tightening 5-on-5 defensive reads off the rush before departing for their upcoming road game against the San Jose Sharks.
Laviolette indicated that forward Corey Perry and defenseman Erik Gustafsson are available options who could potentially enter the lineup after practicing on the second power-play unit. Additionally, the team announced a five-game rotation for alternate captains this season among Mikey Anderson, Adrian Kempe, and Artemi Panarin.
