Wales' draw for the Rugby World Cup gives them a strong chance of making the quarter-finals

Wales learned their potential path at the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia after being drawn into Pool F alongside England, Tonga, and Zimbabwe. Under head coach Steve Tandy, Wales avoided top sides South Africa and New Zealand in the pool stage. Finishing second behind England would likely send Wales into a round-of-16 matchup against Fiji, followed by a potential quarter-final against France.
The draw structure has also set up a potential early heavyweight clash, with South Africa and New Zealand on track to meet in the quarter-finals if both win their groups. This configuration ensures that at least one of international rugby's premier powers will be eliminated before the semi-finals.
