The Story in 60 Seconds

Philadelphia Flyers prospect Maksim Sokolovskii is out week-to-week after sustaining a lower-body injury, his junior club, the OHL's London Knights, announced on Friday night. The 18-year-old defenseman joins an expanding list of injured Flyers players, including Denver Barkey, Nikita Grebenkin, and Helge Grans, as Philadelphia faces a challenging start to the 2026-27 season.

Sokolovskii, a 2026 first-round draft pick, had made only one appearance this season during London's 7-4 victory over the Owen Sound Attack on Sept. 25. In that matchup, the 6-foot-8 defenseman delivered a massive hit on forward Lucian Bernat and subsequently fought defenseman Julian Brown before being sidelined.
