Rangers could reportedly face interest from other clubs next summer for centre-back Olwethu Makhanya following an impressive start to his career at Ibrox. The 22-year-old defender signed a permanent deal from Philadelphia Union for £3 million, with Rangers beating teams including Wolves, Middlesbrough, KAA Gent, and RB Salzburg to secure his signature.

Should external interest develop next summer, Rangers also hold a buy option on loanee Ben Godfrey to help address their central defense.
