Ruben Amorim was impressed by Matteo Gabbia, Christian Comotto, and Omari Hutchinson during AC Milan's 1-1 friendly draw against Serie B side Padova. Milan scheduled the match during an extended international break to give minutes to sidelined squad members and players who were not called up for international duty. Lorenzo Ossola scored the lone goal for Milan.
According to Tuttosport, Gabbia proved his ankle injury is resolved, Comotto performed well in midfield, and Hutchinson linked up effectively with Christian Pulisic. The match also featured Fikayo Tomori starting at right-back in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
