Hyo Joo Kim managed to somehow land her golf ball on her playing partner's ball marker during the second round of the LOTTE Championship, leading to a rather humorous moment

Major champion Hyo Joo Kim was involved in an unusual incident during the second round of the LOTTE Championship. Playing a short chip shot from the edge of the green, the South Korean landed her ball directly onto her playing partner's ball marker, sending the coin bouncing and rolling roughly 10 feet before it stopped.
Under golf's Rule 13.1d, no penalty was assessed, and the marker was required to be replaced on its original spot. Despite hitting all 14 fairways in her second round, Kim finished at two-under-par and missed the cut by a single stroke, marking only her second missed cut of the 2026 season.
