Ipswich Town academy prospects Chris Atherton and Mthunzi have impressed on the international stage during an eventful week for the club. Midfielder Atherton provided an assist during the Republic of Ireland Under-19s' 1-1 draw with Qatar at the Slovenian Nations Cup, having also registered an assist against the Faroe Islands. Meanwhile, defender Mthunzi captained Zimbabwe's Under-23 team to a 2-0 victory against Mauritius in an Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Off the pitch, former academy coach Chris Casement has joined Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Qadsiah as an individual development coach under Brendan Rodgers. Additionally, Ipswich Town has reportedly taken a look at 16-year-old Senegalese defender Serigne Afia Ndao from Be Sport Academy, who is also drawing interest from clubs such as Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, and Wolves.
