In a statement, York said he made an "inexcusable mistake" and "what I did does not reflect my values or the man I strive to be for my family"

San Francisco 49ers boss and Rangers co-owner Jed York has apologized for an "inexcusable mistake" following his arrest in Ohio on August 23. York was arrested by a human trafficking task force on suspicion of engaging in prostitution before pleading no contest to two misdemeanor charges, including disorderly conduct. Following an NFL review, the league fined York $500,000 and issued him a six-game suspension for violating its personal conduct policy.
Court documents revealed York agreed to pay $140 for sexual activity after answering an online advertisement. In Ohio court, he received a $1,150 fine, was credited with one day of jail time served, and completed an online course. York, who took over Rangers alongside chairman Andrew Cavenagh, expressed deep remorse to his family, fans, and the 49ers organization while accepting the league's disciplinary sanctions in full.
