Riyad Mahrez has been a free agent since June

Former Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has agreed to join Qatari club Al-Shamal SC on a free transfer, according to DZFoot. The 35-year-old Algerian international has been a free agent since his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli expired in June. Mahrez is reportedly scheduled to undergo a medical early next week ahead of completing the move.
The agreed contract is a one-year deal that includes an option for a second year. A significant factor in Mahrez's decision was Al-Shamal's participation in the AFC Champions League. The attacker previously played 179 games for Leicester City before joining Manchester City and subsequently moving to Saudi Arabia in 2023.
