According to Reuters, the 24-year-old became the lowest-ranked player since WTA rankings began in 1975 to defeat a world No. 1 after losing the first set. Rybakina struggled on serve with seven double faults as Charaeva broke her four times. Charaeva advanced to the third round to face Britain's Sonay Kartal.
